Family Information and FOPHS News Friday 12th September 2025

Welcome to 51视频 School's Family Liaison Blog!

I can feel the weather turning autumnal, with a bit of a chill in the mornings. A fantastic weekend at the GNR where I met parents, staff and supporters. Well done to all who completed the mini, junior, 5k or the GNR. As I write Team Robinson raised 拢824 for FoPHS funds. Considering that on the first day back we hadn鈥檛 hit 拢200 this is amazing. These funds will be used to support the work of FoPHS.

Events:

Wednesday 17th September 9.30-11. Social Coffee morning/FoPHS meet and greet.

Wednesday 24th September 14-15.00: KS4 appropriate accreditation coffee afternoon

Thursday 25th September 14-15.00: Post 16 MacMillan coffee afternoon

Request for help:

Hannah, our Outdoor learning teacher has requested the following items to help with her lessons. If you can help, please send in to school with your child for her attention or they can be dropped off with me.

  • Conkers
  • Feathers
  • Pretty autumnal leaves
  • Jam jars
  • Corks
  • Natural materials that could be used for Forest School/Outdoor learning

Survey:

I have been asked to share the following. If it applies to your family please complete.

Free School Meals:

If your child has been in receipt of free school meals and has moved key stages, so is now in Year 3, 7, 10 or 12 I will require evidence of their entitlement. I will contact you if this applies to your child. It is essential that this evidence is provided. It is required for the Department for Education Census.

16-19 Student Bursary:

This was publicised widely in the summer term and is for students in Post 16 who were 16 on 31st August 2025. I am still awaiting evidence, without which the application cannot be processed. I will send a further reminder today; if I don鈥檛 have a response, I will assume your child is not eligible for the bursary.

Online Safety:

We take the online safety of students and staff seriously. As new information comes to us, it is shared, and staff do rigorous training which keeps us up to date. We know that for many of our students especially the neurodiverse online feels easier for them. However, there are dangers, and we want parents to be aware of them, to enable you to support your young people to the best of your ability. Do have a look at the resources and if you have concerns about your child, please contact their class teacher in the first instance.

The link to the Online safety information can be found on the school website under the heading 鈥淧arent and carers area鈥, then 鈥渙nline safety鈥 from the dropdown menu.
